Ronald McDonald House Southern Alberta

Website: http://www.rmhsouthernalberta.org Category: Health & Wellness Description: Picture this: Your child falls ill and requires a higher level of care than what your local hospital can provide. As a result, you’re sent to a hospital in an unfamiliar city for an undetermined amount of time. It could be days, weeks, or months until you are able to return home.

At Ronald McDonald House Southern Alberta, we support out-of-town families faced with this situation on an ongoing basis. Every year, more than 600 sick children and their families find a safe, comfortable and affordable home away from home at the House. We are here to provide a compassionate atmosphere for families to stay together during a child’s illness.

Volunteers at the House support families in a variety of meaningful ways. House volunteers work as front hosts, bakers, and provide housekeeping and assist with office administration. Special event volunteers provide support to families in a wide variety of roles at fundraising events. Our signature events include the Cassie Campbell Street Hockey Festival, Illuminate Gala, Charity Golf Classic and Rock the House Run™.

If this sounds like something you’d like to be a part of, join our amazing volunteer team that continuously makes a big difference in the lives of sick children and their families.
